The council voted to adopt a special rule that the council president vote last. The motion, made by Council member Hadassah Matovetsky and seconded by Council member Kenya Middleton, passed on a roll-call vote, 6-0, with Olamini Porter absent.
Sitting as president, Michael Dundon announced the Jan. 13 town hall and invited public participation: "This town hall is going to be regarding good cause eviction, and we are hoping and looking forward to a great community involvement and discussion on this subject because we know it's a subject that a lot of people are interested in." The meeting was then adjourned.
