The Town of Lakeville Board of Health approved a local upgrade design for 16 Norfolk Street on Jan. 15 after a presentation from Will Connolly of Zenith Consulting Engineers.
Connolly told the board the 18,000-square-foot lot sits near Long Pond and that the proposal includes a 1,500-gallon microFAST tank, a 1,000-gallon pump chamber, H‑20 monolithic tanks and a pipe-and-stone leaching field. The applicant requested reductions in several items including the leaching-field area and setbacks to surface-water supply and public water supply.
Board members requested clarifications and edits: locating and inspecting the pipe from the house (to be found at least within 10 feet of the house), checking pipe material and slope, adding a note about the retaining-wall detail, and fixing a typographical elevation on the soil log. Connolly agreed to revise the installer’s copy and add the requested notes.
The motion to approve the subsurface sewage disposal system upgrade carried with the condition that the plan be revised to locate the outlet pipe within 10 feet of the house where accessible and to correct the noted elevation/profile typo.
The board recorded the approval and asked staff to ensure the installer's plan includes the requested clarifying notes before issuing an installer’s permit.
