Narberth officer commended after Dec. 24 train-incident rescue at station

Narberth Borough's mayor and council formally commended Officer Kelly Lynn for a December 24, 2024 rescue at Narberth Station.

The mayor read a letter that praised the officer's immediate response after a woman crossing the tracks was struck by a departing train. The letter says the officer ensured the woman was removed from beneath the train, enabling paramedics to treat and transport her to the hospital with only minor injuries. The mayor and council described the action as an example of bravery and dedication to public safety.

In her remarks the mayor urged residents not to cross the tracks to catch trains, admonishing that it is dangerous and that the train's operating rules will not allow it to pick up late-running passengers in that manner. The council presented the written commendation and thanked the officer for her service.
