Council approves $350,000 settlement appropriation

The Los Angeles City Council on April 17 approved an appropriation of $350,000 to settle an identified matter, after the city attorney advised the council the matter could be considered in open session. No members of the public spoke on the item and the council voted to approve the payment immediately.

The city attorney indicated the matter need not be handled in closed session and opened the hearing on item 46; with no public comment, the council opened and closed the roll and recorded 10 ayes to approve the appropriation.
