Board signs Police Protection State Aid report showing FY06 actuals and FY07 projection

St. Mary's County commissioners authorized the Commissioner President to sign the Police Protection State Aid Report on March 6, recording actual Fiscal Year 2006 numbers and projected Fiscal Year 2007 figures.

Miss Shoemaker and sheriff's office staff presented the report. The report compiles law-enforcement activity data and demographic inputs used by the state to compute distribution of state law-enforcement aid.

Staff said the forms reflect "Actual FY 06 and projected FY 07 expenditure forms in the amount of $8,812,597." A motion to approve and authorize the commissioner president to sign the report was made and seconded; commissioners approved the motion by voice vote.

Commissioners praised the sheriff's office for recent enforcement actions and thanked staff for preparing the reported data.
