The Chelsea School Committee introduced Billie Jo Turner at the Jan. 2 meeting as a newly hired district staff member responsible for finance and operations functions.
Committee members said Turner brings more than 24 years of financial and operational management experience, including accounting, payroll, purchasing, human resources, grant management, transportation, food service, facilities and risk management. The meeting record states Turner most recently served as chief financial officer for Lowell Public Schools and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a master's degree in education from Cambridge College.
