Patty Heavens was elected chair of the Perkins Taxonomy board in a unanimous vote of the members present, the board decided during a short meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m.

The leadership votes came as the board — which members said currently has four appointed seats and one vacancy — confirmed Rhonda as vice chair. Both leadership nominations were moved and seconded during the meeting; each was approved with the three members present voting yes and one member absent.

The board approved its consent agenda without any items removed. Members also approved the regular meeting calendar for 2026 and confirmed the board’s next regular meeting would be on Feb. 3, 2026. Finally, the board moved to adjourn. Meeting remarks indicated Aaron Ferguson, a board member, was absent for the session and one seat on the board remains open.

The meeting lasted only a few minutes and included routine procedural business: roll call, officer elections, consent-agenda approval, adoption of the 2026 meeting date and adjournment. No substantive policy discussion or external presentations were recorded during the session.
