The Northborough Appropriations Committee voted on several routine but formal items at its Feb. 4 meeting, electing officers, approving minutes with an amendment and approving a small transfer to the regional vocational assessment.

Terry Howland nominated Scott Rogers for chair; the nomination was seconded and the committee approved Rogers as chair by a recorded tally of 5–0.

Howland nominated George for vice chair (recorded in the meeting as "George" in the roll call and nomination); the nomination was seconded and the committee approved the vice chair 5–0.

Bob D'Amico nominated Jeff Knight to serve as clerk; the nomination was seconded and the committee approved Knight as clerk 5–0.

The committee reviewed Jan. 23 meeting minutes and agreed to add a paragraph drafted by a member about budget run rates and levy-capacity concerns. Members moved to approve the Jan. 23 minutes as amended. One member abstained on the minutes vote because they had not attended that meeting; the committee otherwise approved the minutes (4 yes, 0 no, 1 abstain).

On a separate procedural motion, the committee voted to transfer $477 from the Appropriations Committee Reserve Fund to the Assabet Valley assessment for FY25. The motion passed 5–0.

Members also set a follow-up meeting for Thursday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. to continue departmental budget reviews.

Votes recorded in open session were unanimous on the officer elections and the Assabet transfer. The minutes amendment will be incorporated into the posted record prior to the next meeting.
