The Herriman Planning Commission on Feb. 5 unanimously approved a preliminary subdivision plat amendment for Lot 102 at Studio Business Park that will allow condominium declarations for the office building under construction.

City planning staff described the site as a 2.7-acre parcel zoned C2 in the northern part of the city and said the requested changes keep all condominium units within the current building footprint and will not affect setbacks or easements. Planning staff recommended approval with one condition: the condominium declaration must be recorded with the plat.

Casey Forbusch, the applicant representing DAI, told the commission the building is nearly complete and “we should be completing up in the March.” He said the plan would create multiple condominium units with shared common space connected through breezeways, and that the change would not expand the building’s footprint.

Commissioner Jackson moved to approve the item with the staff recommendations; Commissioner Brody seconded. The commission conducted a roll-call vote: Brody — yes; Jackson — yes; Heather — yes; Adam — yes; Darrell — yes; Andrea — yes. The motion passed.

The approval is preliminary; staff noted the condominium declaration must be recorded with the plat before finalization. No members of the public addressed the commission on this item during the public hearing.
