At the Feb. 6 meeting the board heard a report on gifts received during the period and accepted the donors’ contributions as part of the consent agenda.
Staff member Shawna reported there were 10 gifts to schools and programs totaling $29,674.77 and 18 gifts to the Ralph Reeder food shelf totaling $19,080.85. Shawna recommended that the board accept the gifts and extend thanks to the donors.
The consent agenda, which included the acceptance of gifts, was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The public transcript records the voice vote as “Aye” and the clerk stated the motion carries; a roll-call tally was not included in the public remarks.
Why it matters: Gifts and donations support school programs and the district food shelf; board acceptance formally recognizes donor contributions and enables district staff to allocate the funds or in-kind donations as reported.
What comes next: The district will process the gifts according to existing procedures and acknowledge donors.
