The Oklahoma House of Representatives delayed its planned 9:30 a.m. floor start because of inclement weather and, by unanimous consent recorded as “without objection,” adjourned until Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.
Majority Floor Leader Pfeiffer said the House would not gavel in at 9:30 as planned because of weather conditions and that the current plan was to come to the floor at 10:30 and move committees scheduled at that time to just after adjournment. "Members, as we all know, there's inclement weather on us. So what the plan is currently, we're not gonna gavel in. Instead of coming in at 09:30, we're gonna come into the floor at 10:30 and then move all those committees that are 10:30 just after adjournment on the floor tomorrow," Leader Pfeiffer said.
Later in the session the floor leader moved the adjournment: "I move that when the clerk's desk is clear, the House can adjourn until Tuesday, 02/18/2025 at 10:30AM," the floor leader stated. The presiding officer responded that there was no objection and set the next convening time.
The session included customary ceremonial items and recognitions before the scheduling announcement and motion to adjourn. No formal roll-call vote on legislation occurred during the recorded portion of the transcript; the only formal action documented was the motion to adjourn and the scheduling direction accepted "without objection."
The House will reconvene Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., per the presiding officer's order.
