The House Education Committee moved to recommend do not pass on House Bill 15-16, which would have created a school-board observer position.

Representative Haddlestad moved the do-not-pass recommendation and Representative Jonas seconded. Committee discussion was brief and no additional amendments were offered. The roll call recorded seven votes in favor of do not pass, three opposed and four members absent; the committee reported the motion passed 7-3-4.

With the committee’s recommendation recorded, HB15-16 will not advance from the committee unless the full House takes further action.
