Supervisors authorize chair to sign Title VI assurance with Iowa DOT

The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors voted Monday to authorize the chair to sign a Title VI assurance agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation.

A board member moved to approve the authorization and another supervisor seconded the motion; the board then voted "aye" with no recorded opposition and carried the motion. The agreement is a routine annual confirmation when the board chair changes, the auditor's office noted.

The board did not discuss substantive changes to the agreement during the meeting. The Title VI assurance formalizes the county's commitments under federal nondiscrimination requirements for federally assisted transportation programs and was returned to the Iowa DOT with the chair's signature.
