The Floyd County Board of Supervisors set its regular 2025 meeting dates and times and approved an inclement‑weather contingency plan during the reorganization meeting.

Supervisors confirmed day meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month and evening meetings on the fourth Tuesday. The board set day meetings to begin at 8:30 a.m. Evening meetings will start at 6 p.m. from January through April and from October through December, and at 7 p.m. from May through September; supervisors said the later start during May–September accommodates hay cutting and other agricultural activity.

The board also approved an inclement‑weather policy that designates the Thursday following a scheduled Tuesday meeting as the first alternate meeting date; if weather still precludes a meeting that week, the board will reschedule to the following Tuesday. Supervisors framed the policy as a way to avoid special‑meeting calls and give the public and staff predictable makeup dates.

Board members voted on the schedule and the inclement‑weather motion in separate roll-call votes; the measures passed with the required majority.

Supervisors said day‑meeting start times will remain at 8:30 a.m., and that staff will publish the annual meeting calendar and the inclement‑weather alternate dates to the public and on agendas.
