Adams County staff reported preliminary work on joining a regional pretrial monitoring consortium shared among four counties and warned of a significant county share of costs.

The county administrator said the Pretrial Monitoring Program Consortium would likely include three contiguous counties and that the county’s portion would be about $93,000. She said internal meetings will be needed with the sheriff’s office, judges, and other personnel to assess feasibility and sustainability.

The administrator noted the program is substantial even when costs are shared and that the county must determine whether it can accommodate that expenditure in its budget. No formal commitment was made; staff will continue feasibility work and return to the board with recommendations.
