Revere Public Schools received notification that the district has been awarded a Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) Expansion, Access, Training and Startup (SFSP Eats) grant for $17,133, the Committee of the Whole heard April 15.

A letter cited Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll and said the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will send further instructions, including next steps for new and existing sponsors. The letter named Kristen Torres Powers and Sally M. Taxiera at DESE as contacts for questions.

Dr. Kelly said the district will accept the grant when the consent calendar is approved.

Ending: DESE will provide implementation instructions; the committee placed the award on the consent calendar for formal acceptance at a future vote.
