The Town of Needham Board of Assessors on April 17 recorded that an extension had been filed for the Knights of Columbus property at 1215 Highland Ave. and that a separate petition for 588 Hillside Ave. would be postponed because an extension for that address was not received.
Danielle Justo, an attorney with the law firm Rich May, said she filed petitions “for Garcia Miller, which is 588 Hillside Ave., and also for the Knights of Columbus at 1215 Highland Ave.” She told the board, “We did sign the extension for the Knights of Columbus.”
Board members discussed scheduling. John Bullard, a member of the Board of Assessors, told the group, “I didn't get a 588 Hillside Ave extension, though. I only got one for 12:15,” noting that the two matters would need to be coordinated. Paul Ingram, a former appraiser and tax consultant joining by phone, said, “I prefer to postpone it if we could.”
Board staff and counsel agreed to coordinate timing and paperwork by email; Justo said she would email the signed extension so the board could process the Knights of Columbus item and arrange a new date for 588 Hillside Ave. The board did not take any final public vote or issue a formal decision on either petition during the open session.
The board also noted that this is a recertification year, a scheduling context raised during the discussion; the transcript records the phrase “03/1975” in that exchange but provides no further explanation of that reference. No public comment was offered on these items during the meeting.
