The North Platte Board of Education approved a package of routine and substantive items during its April 14 regular meeting, including a consent agenda of personnel actions, several policy updates and a motion authorizing administrative pay increases up to a 1% total compensation cap.

Board President Emily Garrett opened votes that formalized multiple prior discussions. The consent agenda — which included multiple staff resignations and a set of new teaching contracts for the 2025–26 school year — was approved by roll call. The board also approved the publication of the meeting, the meeting agenda, and a mileage reimbursement for Board Member Angela Blasey for attendance at a Nebraska Association of School Boards legislative conference in Lincoln.

The board approved revisions to administrative policies after committee review, including policy 02/2002 (formatting and tie-breaker language), 02/2006 (complaint procedure language: changing the phrase to require written submission), 02/2007 (clarifying that reimbursements for registration, travel, meals and lodging require board approval) and 02/2010 (clarifying how agenda items are submitted and who has final responsibility for the agenda). Each of those policy revisions was presented at the committee of the whole and voted on during the regular meeting.

On a separate action, the board authorized administrative contracts for the 2025–26 year with total compensation increases not to exceed 1% — a cap the board discussed in light of district comparisons presented during the meeting and in the context of personnel changes that created some savings in the administrative payroll pool.
