The Everett School District Board of Directors on April 15 approved a slate of five finalists to be interviewed May 1 for appointment to an elective office, the board said at a special meeting.
The finalists — Demi Chatters, Jack Doan, Anne Marie Lawrence, Kurt Lillebridge and Ryan Weber — were approved by motion, moved by Director Adkins and seconded by Director Robolinski. President Binshall announced the motion carried after members responded in favor.
The board convened an executive session to evaluate the qualifications of candidates for appointment to elective office; the meeting notice said the executive session was expected to last about 60 minutes and that action would follow. The board approved having the interviews during a special meeting on May 1, 2025, with interview times assigned in the order applications were submitted, per the superintendent's recommendation.
Before the executive session, the board noted two changes to the published agenda: an item for a location review and an update to report card rule B; staff also said the length of an appointed survey was updated to reflect service through the next regularly scheduled election in 2025. There was no recorded objection to approving the agenda by general consent.
The board recessed for the executive session and later reconvened to take the action selecting the five finalists. After the motion and second, the chair asked for those in favor and, hearing no opposition, declared the motion carried. The board then set the finalist interviews for May 1 and adjourned the special meeting.
The board did not provide additional details in the public record about the office to be filled, the specific evaluation criteria used in executive session, or a roll-call vote count for the motion.
