Nueces County Commissioners Court returned from executive session Thursday and took three actions in open session.

First, the court unanimously denied the claim filed by Janie Gifford; the motion to deny passed with no recorded opposition.

Second, on DLF (a consent agenda item pulled for discussion), a commissioner moved to approve payment to DLF as listed and directed DLF to provide a written progress report and a schedule of payments made by Thursday, May 1. The motion carried unanimously. The court instructed that the report be presented to the Inland Parks director for circulation to the full commissioners court.

Third, the court voted to table a separate agenda item (3a6) until the regular meeting on May 14 to allow the county attorney to return with additional information.

The court’s actions were taken after private consultation with counsel; the presiding officer publicly announced the statutory bases for executive session and then moved the listed items back into open session for votes.
