Collinsville resident tells board employees are being pushed out; announces she will not renew contract

During the public comment period, Margarita Madagoff of the Collinsville District told the Henry County School Board that ‘‘talented and committed employees are being pushed out’’ and described the district’s culture as ‘‘disengaged’’ and ‘‘unethical.’’

Madagoff said staff who raise concerns face retaliation and that leadership lacks accountability, empathy and consistent communication. She urged the district to ‘‘value people over optics’’ and to listen and respond to employees and parents. Madagoff concluded by saying she will not renew her contract for the 2025–26 school year after serving the division since 2018.

Board members did not engage in a back-and-forth during public comment; the chair read the rules for public comment before Madagoff spoke and the board proceeded to the information agenda after the comment period.
