Superintendent Wilson and staff recognized service employees and teachers of the year from each school and announced the district winners during the Lincoln County Board of Education meeting.
Service personnel recognized (school and honoree as read at the meeting) included Keisha Clay (West Hamlin Elementary), Anita Edmonds (Central Office), Anita Parsons (Hart's Pre K–8), Ryan Pritchard (Lincoln County High School transportation/announcing role), Abigail LaFleur (Duval Pre K–8), Laura Cyril (Midway Elementary), Wayne Salmons (transportation), Shelly Adkins (Hamlin Pre K–8), and Chris Browning (Guyana Valley Middle School). The board read brief citations summarizing each honoree’s contributions.
Teacher of the Year recipients announced for each school included Bev Davis (Guyan Valley Middle School), Rebecca Roy (West Hamlin Elementary), Michelle McCann (Harts Pre K–8), Allison Stickler (Lincoln County High School), Maddie Smith (Midway Elementary), Brittany Webb (Duval Pre K–8), and Brenna Allen (Hamlin Pre K–8). The board described nominees’ teaching roles and service to students; several teachers’ extracurricular and leadership roles were noted.
The board also named the district’s overall winners and said each school submitted nominations that were scored by a committee using a rubric developed by central‑office directors. The superintendent explained the selection process: nominations from faculty senates or principals, a filled application, committee scoring sheets aggregated by Steve Gaines and the committee, with the highest total points determining the winner.
Board members and staff took photos with honorees; no board votes were required for the recognitions.
