The Broward Housing Council voted to forward its 2024 annual report to the Broward County Board of County Commissioners for acceptance, approved amendments to its bylaws, accepted corrected minutes from the Feb. 28 meeting and elected new council officers.
At the meeting staff moved to forward the council’s 2024 annual report to the Board of County Commissioners “for acceptance.” The motion was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote; staff said Joe Sissodia would work with Commissioner Rogers to place the report on the county commission’s June agenda for acceptance.
The council also voted to approve amendments to the Broward Housing Council bylaws, which the packet emailed to members showed as the version discussed at the previous meeting. The motion to adopt the amended bylaws was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
Council members approved an amended copy of the Feb. 28 meeting minutes; the amendment added Maura Bowman to the roll-call list. The minutes motion was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
The council then held its annual officer elections (the bylaws specify April as election month). Members nominated and approved leadership changes for the coming year. Chris Jupe was nominated and accepted the nomination for chair; Beth Daley was nominated and elected vice chair. Both nominations were seconded and adopted by voice vote.
During the director’s report, council staff announced that Joe Sissodia will retire effective May 23; staff introduced Darby Bridal Salle as the assistant director of the urban planning division present at the meeting.
