The Haverford Township School District's finance and facilities committee reported Thursday that the district completed a required Request for Proposals for food service management companies and intends to move forward with Chartwells.

Committee members said six firms responded to the RFP and that the district used the Pennsylvania Department of Education's required scorecard rubric during evaluation. A review committee that included staff and board members performed a thorough review; the committee reported that Chartwells will be proposed to continue as the district's food service manager.

The finance committee noted Chartwells's involvement in wellness programming and the district's efforts to integrate meal programs with curriculum and student activities. The report was informational to the full board; committee recommendations typically return to the board for final contracting and action.
