Oklahoma County told commissioners it has engaged Ernst & Young to assist with finalizing the fiscal year 2024 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report as staff work to meet upcoming deadlines for auditors and credit analysts. Representatives from Ernst & Young introduced themselves and described an on-site and remote engagement plan.

Carlos Nourdes, who identified himself as "executive director of our government practice," said Ernst & Young will focus on meeting the county’s June 23 deadline for an official draft and enabling a 60-day review period so the county can provide reports to Moody’s and the state auditor by Aug. 25. "Obviously, our main focus right now is going to be this June 23rd deadline to get back to the auditors," Nourdes said.

Nourdes described an on-the-ground team that will include Griffin and Taurus (staffing on site for a limited period) plus Jessica Regas and Steph Miller in advisory roles. He said the team will put together a roadmap to accelerate future reporting and improve processes so the county can meet schedules more comfortably in subsequent years.

The board welcomed the Ernst & Young team and encouraged staff to coordinate follow-up questions directly with the firm’s contacts.
