The Caroline County Board of License Commissioners on Oct. 22 granted an extension for Nazar’s (applicant: Mr. Ula) to complete outstanding items required for a new Class A beer and light wine 7‑day off‑premise license. The extension runs to the end of the current license year, April 30, 2026.
At the July meeting the board had unanimously approved Nazar’s application conditionally, giving the applicant 90 days to provide outstanding documents. On Oct. 22 applicants requested an additional 45‑day extension to secure a town occupancy permit and related approvals. Board staff told commissioners the delay was due to staffing and procedural issues in the Town of Federalsburg rather than missing documents on the applicant’s side. The applicant’s attorney had earlier indicated outstanding items were limited to the fire marshal/town occupancy permit.
Because the town’s review was outside the applicant’s control, commissioners agreed to extend the deadline through the end of the license year rather than the 45 days requested, and instructed staff to document the extension in the licensing file. The board noted that the extension does not waive remaining submission requirements; Nazar’s must still supply any outstanding items before final license issuance and may be required to appear before the board if material circumstances change.
The board instructed its staff to track the extension and to notify commissioners if the town’s delay persists beyond April 2026.
