The Hooksett Planning Board approved a small site-plan application on Monday to allow GZA GeoEnvironmental to place a prefabricated utility shed in a portion of the company’s leased parking area at Central Park Drive.
The company said the shed will store field equipment used by its local office and will be sited in an area the landlord set aside for that purpose. GZA representatives told the board the shed’s footprint and construction materials will comply with local setbacks and building-code requirements; the town’s code-enforcement officer had advised GZA to file a site-plan application after an initial building-permit inquiry.
The board accepted jurisdiction, determined the project had no broader regional impact that would require additional review, and granted a limited waiver from the site-plan checklist (allowing a more focused plan at the submitted scale). The board adopted findings of fact and approved the plan with the standard technical and pre-occupancy conditions the town uses for small accessory structures.
Speakers: Ken Boyvin, district office manager for GZA’s Hooksett office, described the equipment and the operational need for the shed; planning staff verified setback and site requirements and will verify the final as-built location before the certificate of occupancy is issued.
Ending: With standard conditions and no impact fees assessed, the applicant may proceed after final technical signoffs and recording any required plan notes.
