The Magnolia Independent School District safety committee reported that spring lockdown drills run with contractor ARC were completed at every campus and described upcoming training for teachers and first responders.

Staff told the committee that all campuses completed lockdown drills this spring through ARC, a contracted vendor. The district will run training for new teachers during New Teacher Academy in July and provide refresher active-shooter training for existing teachers during August professional development.

The committee also described an active-attack integrated response training to be hosted over the summer at Magnolia Junior High. That session will be led by the Magnolia Police Department and Magnolia Fire Department and is intended as an opportunity for first responders to practice active-shooter response and to become familiar with the district’s facilities.

Committee members asked no recorded questions and there was no public comment. The committee approved meeting minutes and adjourned later in the meeting.
