The City of Lacey announced a mandatory residential watering schedule that runs June 1 through Sept. 30. City staff member explained that addresses ending in odd numbers water on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, while addresses ending in even numbers water on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

"No watering on Fridays as this gives our city reservoirs a chance to replenish," City staff member said, and added that the schedule helps manage demand and keep costs down during the summer months.

The city said exemptions are available in some cases and directed residents to the "odd even watering" web page for details. The announcement did not specify which exemptions are allowed or the application process for exemptions; residents were directed to the city's website for full information.
