Parks Director Earl Hartenberg used the visitors'-comments portion of the meeting to commend park maintenance staff and preview upcoming park programming.

Hartenberg told the council he inspected all three parks recently and found lawns well cut and restrooms clean. He singled out an employee named Lane for praise for handling back-to-back birthday events at the golf course. "She just went overboard to make sure that both our party and the next party was done and done very well," Hartenberg said.

Nut graf: Hartenberg noted the parks division has a full calendar for the rest of the year, including senior exercise classes beginning in July, a western-themed dance in late August and seasonal events such as a pumpkin patch and breakfast with Santa.

Hartenberg encouraged residents to visit the parks and noted continued programming to bring more people to the country club and other park facilities. His remarks were public comment and informational; no council action was requested or taken on the parks items during this meeting.
