The Berrien County Board of Commissioners approved two appointments during its May 22 meeting.

The board appointed Steve Frablik to the Community Corrections Advisory Board to fill a vacancy created when a member stepped down. The motion to approve the appointment was moved and supported and approved by voice vote after the board reconfirmed the committee recommendation.

The board also named Joe Stepich to complete the balance of the term on the county planning commission previously held by Gary Woods. The finance committee had reviewed two candidates and recommended Stepich; Henkelman moved the nomination and Freeling supported. The appointment was approved by voice vote.

Both actions were procedural confirmations of committee recommendations; no additional conditions or votes were recorded in the meeting minutes.
