The Monroe County Board of Commissioners on June 5 approved Change Order No. 5 for Reed & Sons Construction, authorizing use of $20,118.15 from the project contingency for the Karst Athletic Complex Improvement Project to cover an equipment garage, electrical work, a stone gate and a storm fitting.

Parks Director Ms. Whitmer told commissioners the change order does not increase the contract value beyond the existing contingency and that the $20,118.15 will be spent from contingency funds already in the contract.

Commissioners and the parks director noted public anticipation for the complex and apologized for construction traffic; the Board approved the change order by roll call vote 3–0.
