At the June 12 meeting the Oak Park-River Forest School District announced the personnel hire of Jen Pester as the district’s assistant superintendent for student learning. The hire was included in the personnel report that was part of the consent agenda presented to the board.

District officials said Pester most recently worked in Flossmoor and previously served in other Illinois districts, including Naperville and St. Charles. Pester appeared at the meeting and addressed the board and audience, saying she was honored to join the district and looked forward to meeting students and staff.

Board members welcomed Pester to the district. The personnel recommendations — including new hires, retirements, transfers, and summer-school hires — were listed on the consent agenda and approved as part of the consent motion at the meeting.
