The City of Deltona's finance director said the city has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Excellence in Budget Award for the 20th consecutive year.

John McKinney, finance director for the City of Deltona, said the award recognizes the city's budget document and credited the city commission, staff and citizen input developed over multiple workshops. McKinney singled out finance team members "especially Keon and Tory, who worked on late nights and weekends to get it done." He added, "Thanks to everyone here in the finance department for what you do. We appreciate you. I appreciate you. Thank you."

No changes to budget policy or allocations were announced during the remarks.
