The North Pike School District Board of Education approved multiple consent-agenda items, including an agreement between the district and Southwest, acceptance of a $6,000 donation for athletic trainer support, and the 2025-26 professional and classified staff handbooks.
The board approved the superintendents recommendation for the agreement between Southwest and North Pike by voice vote. The board also accepted a $6,000 donation from Professional Rehab Associates to supplement the certified athletic trainer position; staff said this payment is a second-year continuation of the arrangement entered into the prior year.
On the 2025-26 handbooks, the superintendent recused himself from discussion and voting because the handbooks include salary schedules. The board approved the handbooks by motion and voice vote.
Separately, the board approved routine transfers of funds, as recommended by financial officer Tanner Griffin, to close out special education and vocational funds and account for extended-year summer program costs that were not fully funded. Staff explained these transfers are routine year-end and carryforward procedures used to cover salaries and fringe benefits not covered by program funding.
All motions on the consent items were approved by voice vote as recorded in the meeting minutes.
