Burke County staff said three architectural proposals were received for a park-improvement project that will be part of a Southeast regional seed-grant application the county intends to submit next year.

Staff said one submission arrived via Staples unsealed and was time-stamped after the 11 a.m. deadline; all three proposals will be provided to the board for review. Firms mentioned in the meeting included DPR (the county's architect of record, which previously did survey work on the site), Studio Army/RNB, and Johnson Lacheberg & Associates partnered with Ed Bowen of Fall Line Architects.

Staff noted DPR has done on-site layout and initial site planning and described DPR as likely to be familiar with the project; however staff said the board would review the proposals and make a selection at a future regular meeting. Evaluation forms and summary materials are available to commissioners for review, staff said.

No selection or contract award was made during the meeting; staff proposed putting the item on a future agenda so the board can make a decision after reviewing materials.
