The Hampshire County Commission approved a request for county maintenance staff to assist with set-up and cleanup for the county’s 17th annual Bluegrass Festival, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 28.
Parks and Recreation representative Mister Carroll asked for partial-day assistance Thursday, June 26, a full day Friday, June 27, and a partial day Monday for post-event cleanup. Commissioner Breel said he is familiar with the event and moved to approve assistance; another commissioner seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.
Commissioners praised the festival as a positive community event and confirmed the county has provided similar support in past years. No additional funding or changes to staffing levels were reported; the motion authorized routine maintenance assistance as requested.
