The City Clerk presented an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Fulton County for election administration at the July 7 council meeting; the council voted to approve the contract.

The clerk told council the county charges the city nothing for the municipal general election but that runoffs incur a cost; the clerk said the estimated cost for a runoff is $79,616.45 and noted the final amount could change depending on how many municipalities participate in the runoff.

Councilmember Straubshire moved to approve the IGA and the corresponding invoice; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.

Ending: The council approved the county election IGA. City staff will proceed with the county for election administration and will notify council should projected runoff costs change.
