The Building and Utilities Committee reported that the committee supports proceeding with contract award for portions of the project at this time, noting that increasing authorization reflects equipment purchases and related work. The committee recommended emergency legislation so the city can issue orders and award a contract for the limeslaker and dust-collection equipment.

Resolution R332025 (amending earlier resolution R212025) was moved, the council suspended the rules, and the resolution was adopted by roll call during the meeting.

Why this matters: The project authorizes procurement of equipment needed for conversion away from chlorine gas handling components and commits nearly $3 million in authorization for those project elements.
