The Village of Cottage Grove Plan Commission on July 9 approved a 0-lot-line application to split an existing duplex at 221 West Parkview Street into two parcels, allowing separate ownership of each half of the building.

Aaron, village staff, told commissioners the building is already an existing duplex and that the parcel is currently under single ownership. Utility staff confirmed that separate services are in place, and staff recommended approval with the condition that a maintenance agreement be recorded against both lots to clarify future responsibility for shared utilities and repairs.

Commissioner Heidi moved approval of the 0-lot-line application from Joseph Gillham to split the existing duplex into two parcels with staff conditions; Commissioner JP seconded the motion. The commission voted to approve the application.

The decision was procedural: it grants lot-line modification enabling separate ownership while ensuring a recorded maintenance agreement is in place; the village will review deeds and the drafted maintenance agreement as part of final recording.
