La Paz County' The La Paz County Jail District Board of Directors convened June 30 and adopted the jail district's fiscal year 2025'26 budget as presented, after a public hearing with no speakers.

The adoption matters because the jail district budget sets funding for corrections operations and determines transfers from the county general fund that support the district.

County staff presented a condensed overview of the jail district budget and said there were no changes from the tentative budget: the estimated revenues and expenses shown in the tentative presentation remained the same, and the gap between revenues and expenses continues to be supported by transfers from the county general fund. Staff offered the board an opportunity to review transfers but noted this was a public hearing and continued the presentation without further changes.

No members of the public addressed the jail district budget during the hearing. A motion to adopt resolution JD2025'01 adopting the fiscal year 2025'26 La Paz County Jail District budget as presented was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.

The board then recessed as the jail district board and reconvened as the La Paz County Board of Supervisors.
