The council authorized the mayor to enter into a contract with Ars Landscaping LLC to perform the 2025 yard abatement program after converting an ordinance item into a motion for immediate action.

Councilman King proposed specific not-to-exceed amounts aligned with past practice: $33 per household for high grass abatement and $33 per hour for shrub trimming, leaf cleanup and debris removal, with work to be performed in accordance with the bid documents. Councilmember Sachs seconded the amended motion. The council approved the motion on roll call and directed staff to move forward with contractor scheduling.

Housing and code staff indicated the award will allow crews to begin abatement work at properties previously tagged for nuisance abatement. Councilmembers noted prior bids had been high and thanked staff for rebidding.

The motion authorizes the mayor to enter into the contract and sets the not-to-exceed rates as part of the approval.
