Monroe County commissioners approved INDOT change order No. 1 on July 17 to add pedestrian channelizers to the Karst Trail extension as part of the project closeout process.
County staff said the change order generated additional pedestrian channelizers at the time of construction but did not increase costs to the county because remaining funds on the construction contract covered the work. The agenda listed the change order amount as $0.
Staff said the change order and the closeout must follow standard INDOT processes even when no additional county expenditure is required. The board recorded a unanimous vote; no public comment was offered on the item.
