Superintendent Dr. Potter and district staff reported that about 100 teachers and several administrators attended professional development at the Ron Clark Academy with funding from Huntington Bank and other sponsors.
Dr. Potter said the academy focuses on grades 4 through 8 and that attendees brought back active teaching strategies and team-building experiences. “This is one of the professional developments that I think our teachers really came away with a lot a lot of team building,” Dr. Potter said.
Board members expressed enthusiasm and asked staff to share implementation feedback once the school year begins. The superintendent said the district plans to include teachers and students in curriculum meetings to showcase practical classroom changes and learning outcomes.
The board did not record a formal motion related to the trip; members thanked Huntington Bank and partners for sponsoring the professional learning opportunity and encouraged reports on classroom implementation.
