Tupelo officials voted July 1 to terminate the Coliseum’s contract with Vesta Services LLC for linens and related products, citing dissatisfaction with service quality. The Coliseum plans to begin service with a local firm, Busy Ladd, the next day.

Why it matters: The contract covered linens, towels and tablecloths for the Cadence Bank Arena/Coliseum. Coliseum management requested termination before the contract’s scheduled end so it could secure a replacement vendor it says will provide higher-quality service.

Details: The original contract began in 2022 as a 60-month agreement with the company formerly known as Aramark. Coliseum leadership told the council Vesta had removed its products from the coliseum after the city requested removal. The Coliseum expects Busy Ladd to begin service the following day.

Council action: The council voted to approve termination of the contract. Members expressed support for procuring higher-quality local service. The vote was unanimous.
