Committee staff told members that the Public and Traffic Safety Committee will be placed on hiatus because it has struggled with attendance and a lack of actionable agenda items.

"That committee has really struggled with number 1, attendance and membership, and number 2, agenda items for action. So we... are going to put that committee on hiatus," a staff member said. Staff added that items that intersect with public health and do not require technical traffic review may be brought to the Community Health Committee on an ad hoc basis.

Members supported the plan and said they expect to see public-safety items when they relate to community health concerns. No formal vote was recorded at the meeting; staff said they would bring individual items forward as needed and that the community-health committee could provide nontechnical oversight and coordination.
