The Hammond Redevelopment Commission on May 6 approved a conditional, forgivable homebound loan of $6,432 to Ronald and Nicole Campbell to support their purchase of 6713 Alexander Avenue.

The applicants appeared at the meeting and told commissioners they heard about the program from their real estate agent, Shonda Frazier. Staff confirmed the loan amount and the applicants’ eligibility and recommended approval. A motion was made by Commissioner Myrick, seconded by Commissioner Kobaki, and the loan approval passed by unanimous roll-call vote.

The commission did not change the loan terms in open session or attach additional conditions beyond the standard program requirements described by staff. The applicants identified themselves at the hearing and were congratulated by commissioners following the vote.
