The council approved an amendment of $30,000 to Task Order 7 with Wesler Engineering for construction services on the Prairie Oaks Permanent bypass project, bringing the task order total to $60,000.

"Second item is task and amendment number 1 to task order 7 with Wesler engineering. This is for construction services for the Prairie Oaks Permanent bypass project. This amendment is in the amount of $30,000 and brings the total contract amount to $60,000 and I recommend for your approval," Brad Talley of Lafayette Renew said.

Talley explained the bypass grew out of an emergency repair in late 2023 and early 2024: "we decided that we needed to install this bypass project, so that we can have flexibility in our, force mains, our large force mains." He identified the work area as being off Elston Road.

The council approved the amendment by voice vote after a motion and second; no roll-call tally was recorded. The amendment funds additional construction services under the existing task order to advance the bypass project.
