City staff told the Elkhart Redevelopment Commission on July 8 that the City Council approved the city’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) five‑year consolidated plan, the annual action plan, citizen‑participation plan, and the neighborhood revitalization strategy area plan at its most recent meeting.

Staff member Huber reported that the groundbreaking for the Flats at Pine Creek (the Parkway project), a project the redevelopment commission supported with a $6.5 million EDC bond, is scheduled later in the week. Huber said invitations will be sent and described the project in the meeting as “a $50,000,000.250 unit project, out at Ken Road 17.”

In other business, the commission approved payment of an invoice from Warwick and Boeing for $13,949.33 for current work; the motion passed by voice vote.
