On July 1, 2025, the Anderson City Board of Public Works took three bids under advisement for the 2025 Park Road Rehabilitation and Widening Project.

A city staff member read the bids during the board’s July 1 meeting. Morphey Construction Inc. of Indianapolis submitted a bid of $1,980,000. Midwest Paving submitted a bid of $1,716,469. A third bid from EMB was $1,739,628.64. The board made a motion to take the three bids under advisement; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.

City Attorney Lannon and Chief Engineer House asked that the bids be taken under advisement as presented. During the discussion a board member confirmed that funding for the project includes tax increment financing (TIF) and an IEDC grant, and that portions of the project covering utilities are part of the overall work.

Taking bids under advisement means the board did not award the contract at the July 1 meeting. The board indicated staff and the city attorney would review the submissions and return with a recommendation at a later meeting.

The bid-opening and the motion to take the bids under advisement occurred during the engineering portion of the Board of Public Works meeting.
